Coates Car Consultants started after years of helping family and friends buy, finance, and sell their cars. For most people, the process isn't fun — weekends lost at dealerships, pushy salespeople, confusing finance terms, and the hassle of selling privately. Most end up trading in just to avoid the stress, losing 20–40% in the process. We exist to take that work off your hands while keeping you in a better financial position.
About James
James is an equipment finance professional with a long background in senior sales and management. A self-confessed car nut who's bought and sold plenty of cars himself, he started Coates Car Consultants after one too many requests for help from friends and family. He runs the business with a low-pressure, service-first approach — making the process enjoyable instead of stressful.
What do you charge?
For new cars, we give you a final price that includes our charge. For finance solutions, the monthly payment is inclusive of fees — there are no extra charges or commissions to pay. For the sale of your used car, we agree on a fee before the car is sold. Everything is black and white and transparent.
Do you have preferred brands and models you recommend?
Of course, we have opinions on the most reliable, popular and enjoyable cars. We'll certainly give you this information, but will be glad to help you regardless of what you decide on.
